FLIR Systems has strengthened its national distribution network with the signing of leading Australian security and technology provider, Q Security Surveillance.

Q Security Surveillance – part of the Q Technology Group – is a leading developer of security technology products and value added reseller and will represent the full range of FLIR security cameras and systems.

Rob Rosa, Chief Operating Officer: ‘ We recognise FLIR as the world’s leading thermal imaging camera manufacturer and are very excited to be able to represent them in the marketplace throughout Australia.’

QSS has two primary focuses: the commercial design, development and sale of advanced technology systems, sub-systems, components and software for security related applications worldwide and as a value added reseller of high-end security products including detection, alarm and surveillance systems.

The business is headquartered in Port Melbourne with offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

According to FLIR, thermal security cameras make images from the heat energy that is around us all the time, not from reflected visible light, giving 24/7 imaging capability without lights or illuminators.

Thermal energy penetrates atmospheric obscurants better and farther than visible light, allowing you to see through haze, smoke, dust and even light fog. Day and night, through good weather and bad, close up and far away, FLIR's thermal security cameras do it all.

The FLIR range of security cameras include these popular models:
F-Series
High-resolution thermal security cameras, giving you video and control over both IP and analog networks. Full 640x480 thermal resolution delivering greater image detail, range and analytics performance.

 PT-Series
High-performance, multi-sensor pan/tilt cameras, bringing thermal and visible-light imaging together in a system that gives you video and control over both IP and analog networks. Comes in five models that provide full 640 x 480 thermal resolution.

D-Series
The D-Series outdoor dome enclosure provides precision pan/tilt control while providing fully programmable scan patterns and radar slew-to-cue and slew-to-alarm functionality. Fully enabled for control and operation over digital and analog networks, D-Series systems deploy a 320 × 240 thermal imager along with a daylight/lowlight 36× zoom color camera.

FLIR Systems has more than 50 years of experience, and eight manufacturing plants worldwide. Its cameras are used for a range of applications in the fields of predictive maintenance, building and inspections, research and development, security and surveillance, maritime and automotive.
