FLIR has added a number of enhancements to its F-Series and PT-Series security cameras, including a totally new and user-friendly web interface, an enhanced level of security with three login levels, and continuous e-zoom functionality.
E-zoom functionality is now added to all 640x480 versions of the F-Series and PT-Series cameras. This means that there are no more fixed intervals while using the zoom functionality. Users can now stop at any zoom position that they like. The e-zoom appears as a very smooth and continuous image along the entire zoom range.
Other new features include the new web interface that offers a live streaming video page and web-based camera controls (for pan-tilt-zoom functionality, preset and scan lists, AGC presets and much more), and enhanced security with three login levels (user, expert and admin).

FLIR F-Series

F-Series thermal security cameras let you see intruders and other threats to your facility clearly in total darkness and in bad weather. Fully enabled for control and operation over digital and analog networks, F-Series thermal imaging cameras are available in 160 × 120, 320 × 240, and high-resolution 640 × 480 formats, providing up to sixteen times the image clarity and longer threat detection range performance than lower resolution cameras.

FLIR PT-Series

Network-Ready Pan-Tilt, Multi-Sensor Thermal Security Cameras PT-Series thermal security cameras let you see intruders and other threats to your facility’s security clearly in total darkness and in bad weather. The PT-Series precision pan/tilt mechanism gives operators accurate pointing control while providing fully programmable scan patterns, radar slew-to-cue, and slew-to-alarm functionality. Fully enabled for control and operation over digital and serial networks, PT-Series thermal cameras are available in 160 × 120, 320 × 240, and high-resolution 640 × 480 formats, providing up to sixteen times the image clarity and longer threat detection range performance than lower resolution thermal cameras. Multi-sensor configurations also include a day/night 36× zoom color CCD camera on the same pan/tilt package.

About thermal imaging
Thermal imaging is the use of cameras constructed with special sensors that “see” thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal or infrared energy is light that is not visible to the human eye because its wavelength is too long to be detected. It is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot. Thermal imaging cameras produce images of invisible infrared or “heat” radiation. Based on temperature differences between objects, thermal imaging produces a clear image. It is an excellent tool for predictive maintenance, building inspections, research & development and automation applications. It can see in total darkness, in the darkest of nights, through fog, in the far distance and through smoke. It is also used for security and surveillance, maritime, automotive, firefighting and many other applications.
